Gas prices across Canada run from 161.3¢/L in Alberta to 224.4¢/L in Newfoundland and Labrador, using the latest official figure each province publishes. Quebec is the only province with live, station-by-station data: 2,443 stations average 191.3¢/L for regular at 9:30 p.m.
Every number on this page says what kind of figure it is. Ontario's survey is weekly (latest: 179.8¢/L on September 28); the four Atlantic provinces set legal maximums; elsewhere, Statistics Canada publishes a monthly city average about three weeks after the month ends (173.8¢/L nationally for August 2026).
The federal excise tax on gasoline (10¢ a litre) has been suspended since April 20, 2026; Ottawa says the pause runs to January 31, 2027, through Bill C-38, which had not passed as of October 5. Gas tax by province.
