Ontario gas prices this week

Ontario's average for regular was 179.8¢/L in the weekly survey dated September 28, 2026, −1.2¢ from the week before. Peterborough was the lowest of the 13 markets at 168.6¢/L; Kenora the highest at 191.9¢/L.

The Ministry of Energy publishes the survey each week with a Monday date, under an open licence, with history back to 1990. It is a survey of a sample of stations in each market, so it describes the market, not a particular pump.

Ontario's own fuel tax is 9¢ a litre, made permanent in July 2025, plus 13% HST. The federal excise tax is suspended until January 31, 2027 (pending Bill C-38).
